“I would like to observe price and percentage movements and trends of average prices associated with individual product lines, as well as product groups such as groceries, and be assured that I’m buying at the best prices. Do my prices compare to an independently-sourced industry average and what alternative products are available?”
“I’d like an independent and unbiased analysis of my catering purchasing to show me how well I’m performing against a recognised industry norm, identifying strengths and weaknesses in my food and commodity purchasing”.
“How can I gauge the effectiveness of my total group purchasing? I am financially and operationally responsible for a large group of catering sites. Can I benchmark my total business spend with a comparable business (size and type of business)?”
“Within my business I have a number of catering locations spread over a wide geographical area. Managed by different caterers, I need to compare each site against each other on a like-for-like purchase mix to enable me to assess best value”.
“I do not need a full detailed audit of my purchasing. Can I benchmark my own service with a quick look at a sample spend using a dip check facility that I can self-regulate?”
The importance of accurate price data collection and recording is a critical factor to the benchmarking process. Actual invoice data is used to provide each report with a complete audit trail establishing links to supplier name, invoice dates, product codes, description, pack size / weight, price, discounts and volumes. The data process involves the capture and recording of each product line from every invoice supplied.
Quenelles has developed a price data capture and recording system with the catering industry, which has been underwritten by @software Plc resulting in a unique reporting function for the catering industry.
